Latest Saree Biography
When talking about famous Indian clothing, the saree forms an iconic representation of an Indian woman. Saree happens to be the commonest attire worn across the nation. It is draped in different ways in different regions. Styles like Gujarati saree style, Maharashtrian style, Tamilian style, Bengali version etc. are common across the country. Such is the beauty of the attire that if draped properly it can accentuate or conceal in just the right mix. Sarees are available in various colors and designs with motif, embroidery, zardozi and much more. Sarees of traditional and designer styles are readily available in the market.
The next most popular Indian clothing is the Salwar kameez. It is two piece attire made of a kameez which forms the top of the dress. This is a long shirt which can be knee length or longer. The neck line and sleeves can be adjusted as required. The salwar is a baggy pant that is broad around the waist and has many gathers around the thighs for ease of mobility. The duo is mostly clubbed with a stole known as dupatta or chunni. Salwar kameez have been developed by designers over the years to give this traditional Indian attire a more contemporary look. The cuts, lengths and curves of the original designs have been played with to form different styles that are available in the market.
The latest style in Indian garments gaining immense popularity is the Churidar Kurta. The churidar can be considered as the Indian counterpart of the western skinny jeans. The portion around the heels of the churidar has many gathers to give a ruched effect. The kurta is somewhat like the long shirt with a straight skirt cut. The length of the kurta can be either below the knee or uptill the knees. Unlike shalwar kameez, churidar kurta need not be clubbed with a chunni or dupatta. Kurtas of different materials, styles and designs can be paired with a well fitted churidar to bring out the grace in you.
The other kind of Indian attires are the lehenga choli, ghagra choli, chaniya choli etc., these are best to be worn at festive occasions & celebrations, and are not yet incorporated by Indian women in as their daily wear, one reason being that these are much heavier and elaborate.
Designers find it really fascinating to play with the designs of the traditional Indian clothing. In effort to modernize the traditional Indian wear they have brought forth many new styles adding better variety to women’s fashion. It is interesting to note that in their attempt to build an exciting collection of contemporary designs out of these ethnic wears, they have considered clubbing it with traditional art work like kallamkari, zardozi, embroidery etc. Also designs with modern work of beads and sequins look pretty attractive.
